MAKING PROM FACES

It is really important to think as makeup looks as part of an ensemble. When you have selected the perfect dress, all the pieces of hair and make-up will fall into place.

Here are a few pointers in how to embrace the hot trends and the dos and donts of Prom makeup.

The Trends for Prom 2008:

Five easy trends to help you decide on the look you feel will most suit your personality. The "crimson look" is a bold statement of strengh, a classic look that never goes out of style. Think red lips, very polished skin and simply defined neutral eyes. Christina Aguilera would be a modern day example of that look. "The glamorous look" where all focus goes on the eyes...To get the best glamorous eyes, use complementary colors, matte and shimmer eye shadows, lots of mascara and soft pink lips (Madonna and her latest look). "The sexy diva" is defined by the high gloss lips, a skin lightly sunkissed and matte eye shadows, think Beyonce and JLo. The "most beautiful version of yourself" is a simple but effective use of mascara, gloss and shimmer powder, tinted moisturizer, think Kate Moss. The "sultry look" is the classic smokey eyes (kohl liner, silver and black eye shadows) with neutral lips, noone better than Sarah Jessica Parker.

A few Dos and Donts of Makeup that will save you on the day of Prom:

Do have powder to blot your skin and the lipstick or gloss with you to touch up.

Do focus on one part of your face, eyes or lips.

Do wear fake eye lashes, it looks just grand in photos

Do make sure the cover up or foundation you are using is camera perfect

Do always bring a picture of the look you want if you decide to have a professional do your makeup for you!

Do have these products prom cosmetics on hand.

Do have prom make-up before your big day.

Do have prom fingernail polish to match your 2008 prom dress

Do have a prom manicure kit before the big day

Dont match the prom makeup with the dress colors

Dont overload your skin with too much foundation....less is more
